Dear Parent / Guardian,

As a precaution, I want to let you know of an incident that occurred at the end of lunch today at Clayton Heights Secondary School. While walking to school along the path leading from 68 Avenue towards the rear of the school, a Clayton Heights student was approached by a man who acted suspiciously and made some inappropriate remarks to the student. RCMP is investigating.

If you have information that might be related to this incident, please contact the school or the Surrey RCMP (604) 599-0502.

I am sharing this information with students and parents so you are aware and can take precautions as needed in the neighbourhood.

As a reminder, here are some safety tips:

  • Avoid short cuts through lanes, forested or secluded areas; use main routes.
  • Walk with friends.
  • Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.
  • Phone home when leaving a friend’s house and say when you will be home.
  • Trust your instincts and your feelings.
  • Phone if you are going to be delayed, or if your plans change.
  • Please feel free to contact the school if you have questions or concerns.
