TEEN SUBSTANCE USE

Lord Tweedsmuir PAC is hosting a presentation on 
Teen Substance-Use Prevention 

Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School 
6151 180th Street Surrey, B.C. 
Thursday October 10th 2013 at 7pm 

The evening will be designed for parents interested in information and strategies on substance use prevention.  

Topics that will be covered include: 
  • Discussion on the current drugs of choice 
  • What are they?  
  • What do they do?  
  • What are the dangers? 
  • Prevention and education objectives for teens 
  • Identifying high-risk scenarios that may challenge your child. 
  • How to recognize them 
  • How to prevent them 
  • Strategies on how to discuss substance use issues with your child 
This information night will be very informative to parents of existing high school students. The forum will also be of special interest to those parents of grade six and seven children to help prepare for their transition into high school. You will be offered a wide range of strategies to best help your child make well-informed healthy decisions as they enter their first year of high school.
